Graham Webber : Cityscape in oils

The Willow Centre was full to capacity for Graham webbers entertaining demonsration. He took us throught he complete process of creating a stunning cityscape scene in his own loose style, explaining his methods and approach to his practice. Many of the audience went away feeling informed and motivated, inspired by his incredible sense of colour and effected use of a limited palette.

James Power : Horses in oils

On Saturday members and guests were treated to a very special demo of horse painting by James Power. James has spent his life working with and painting horses and is a member of The Society of Equestrian Artists, and gives many demonstrations of his techniques of horse and landscape paintings to art groups in the area.  He did two demonstrations – the first was a quick guide to the correct proportions to creating a successful horse profile and the second main session was a recreation of Sir Alfred Munnings’s The Grey Horse.

Carole has been a professional, self employed artist all her working life. She studied art at St Albans School of Art and then at Leicester College of Art & Design (now De Montford University) before following a successful career as a commercial artist running her own design business for 25 years.

Ian Mcmanus : Landscape in watercolour

Ian is a professional artist specialising in watercolour and full member of the IEA.

His atmospheric paintings capture a moment in time from everyday life.

Well known for painting street scenes bustling with figures and the hubbub of everyday life but equally for exploring many genres such as coastal, pastoral, figures in landscape or interior settings and more.

Margaret Glass : Seascape in pastel

Margaret Glass is recognized as one of the leading Pastellists of today. She is a past Vice-President of La Société des Pastellistes de Françe and a member of the English Pastel Society.

In 1992 she was awarded the title ‘Maitre Pastellist’ by La Société des Pastellistes de Françe, only the eleventh artist to receive this distinction. In recent year she has also built up a growing reputation as a talented oil painter, able to capture the light with the same facility as in her pastels.

Margaret is a member of the Institute of East Anglian Artists.

Julia Tooley : Still life in guache

Julia Tooley is a Norfolk-based, self-taught artist specializing in vibrant gouache paintings that capture everyday objects, still life, and, frequently, food. Her work, often characterized by a focus on light, texture, and form, is displayed in galleries such as Chequer House Gallery and Anteros Arts Foundation. She also teaches gouache workshops.
