Paul Zawadzki

Paul Zawadzki is a British contemporary landscape artist based in the rural East Anglian region of the UK. He embraces spontaneity and unpredictability in his colourful oil paintings by employing expressive paint manipulation techniques, such as dripping and splashing, while retaining a traditional approach to the final piece. Paul believes it is important to enjoy the creative process by responding to the materials and process.

Research while studying for an MA in Fine Art (Norwich University of the Arts), has inspired the inclusion of organic textural materials such as sand, detritus and rusted steel in his work which, combined with traditional oil painting techniques, form another distinct body of work. Paul also has a BA in Illustration from Kingston University and has worked as a graphic designer, photographer and journalist, as well as being an electronic music recording artist.

Inspiration for both his art and music comes from the eroding cliffs and trees at Covehithe on the North Suffolk coast as well as the pastoral landscape of the Waveney Valley – areas he has been emotionally connected with his whole life, and which are sympathetically expressed in his deeply colourful artwork.

Paul is an active member of several art groups including The Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle (Chairman 2024), Easterly Artists and Harleston & Waveney Art Trail Collective. He exhibits regularly in East Anglia as well as London, Venice, Milan, Paris and New York, with the grateful support of Stefania Carrozzini and MyMicroGallery Milan.
